Dental Crown & Bridge
Restore a damaged tooth or replace a missing tooth with a natural-looking, long-lasting dental restoration.
A dental crown is a cap placed over a damaged, weakened, or heavily restored tooth to protect it and restore its shape, strength, and appearance. A dental bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth by anchoring an artificial tooth to the adjacent natural teeth. Both crowns and bridges are custom-made to match the colour and shape of your natural teeth, providing a functional and aesthetic restoration.
Signs You May Need This Treatment

- 2A tooth that has had root canal treatment and needs protection
- 3A severely discoloured or misshapen tooth
- 4A missing tooth — causing difficulty chewing or affecting appearance
- 5A dental implant that needs a crown placed on top
- 6An old crown or bridge that is worn out or broken
What Happens During Your Visit
Examination & Treatment Planning
The dentist examines the tooth or missing tooth space, takes X-rays, and assesses the surrounding teeth. A suitable restoration type is recommended.
Tooth Preparation
For a crown, the tooth is shaped to create space for the crown to fit. For a bridge, the supporting teeth on either side of the gap are prepared similarly.
Impression Taking
An impression of the prepared tooth and surrounding teeth is taken and sent to a dental laboratory where your custom crown or bridge is fabricated.
Temporary Crown / Bridge
A temporary restoration is placed to protect the tooth while your permanent crown or bridge is being made. This usually takes 1–2 weeks.
Fitting & Cementing
Once the permanent crown or bridge is ready, it is checked for fit, colour, and bite, then securely cemented in place.
